Painfully Periodic: a collective web-memoir for menstrual pain

Project Description
Painfully Periodic is a web platform that invites menstruating people to visualize and describe their menstrual experiences, especially of discomfort and pain, through engaging poll interfaces. As each question is answered, it is anonymously aggregated with all responses received so far as interactive dynamic visualizations. The project utilizes the textural experimental potential of computational art to map subjective experiences both quantitatively and qualitatively.

Reshma Thomas (RAYsh-ma), an artist/designer/researcher, who makes interactive tools and experiences that help communities learn, express, visualize, and/or advocate for themselves.
