Traces of Motherhood

Project Description
This research presentation shares visual documentation, survey findings, and early insights from an art-and-design investigation into motherhood. It examines how caregiving shapes identity, memory, and daily experience, highlighting the traces motherhood leaves on both bodies and creative practice. This participatory artwork invites people to write on a long ribbon of fabric in response to the question “What does motherhood mean to you?” The accumulated reflections form a communal text that will be fashioned into a textile garment. The project reveals the multifaceted and emotional texture of mothering and being mothered.
