On November 29th, the 2018 Parsons First Year Sketchbook Competition opened, as students gathered in the Lang Cafe at 65 West 11th Street to view and celebrate their work from sketchbooks used during the Fall 2018 semester.
Sketchbooks from the First Year Drawing and Image course as well as from students in other First Year courses were selected and on view.
The winning sketchbooks (on view in the video above) were by:
- Laibo Yang (First Place)
- Sierra Jolly (Second Place)
- Chloe McLean (Third Place)
The runners-up were sketchbooks by:
- Alexander Aubry
- Yetunde Sapp
- Ángela Zirbes
A selection of the sketchbooks from the 2018 competition are currently on view in the 5th Floor display cases of 2 West 13th Street until the end of the semester.
