Prompt: The prompt focused on memory and transformation. We were asked to reflect on personal experiences that have shaped us as creators and express those reflections through both written work and a constructed object.
This project uses a garment as a vessel for memory, transformation, and personal history. Drawing from childhood artifacts, sensory memories, and materials connected to home, I explored how clothing can hold emotional residue. The piece reflects how these memories shift in meaning as I move through different spaces and times, especially in my transition to life in New York City. It also incorporates writing from my Integrative Seminar poetry assignment, combining text and material to connect personal narrative with physical form.
