Prompt: A 3D object or artifact that reflects their connection to a community or expresses an aspect of their identity, beliefs, or personality.

This project is an ode to my connection to Los Angeles. I began by thinking about the stereotypes of my community and constructed my object to stand as a play on those stereotypes. Because Los Angeles is often equated with vanity and gossip, I decided to make a box that houses both a cosmetic case and a “Guess Who?” game with faces of people I know, embracing LA clichés. I then thought about where these clichés arose, citing it back to Old Hollywood, known for its glamor, scandals, and luxurious style. I chose my design with Old Hollywood aesthetics in mind, ornamenting my box with silver metal hardware and staining it a deep pinkish red.
