Prompt: Take an idea or theme from your "book" project and develop into a moving image work. Choose only one subject. Subjects to consider: a word, an action, an image, a smell, a sound, a memory, or a feeling. How can you explore, expand, and further develop this subject through motion over time? Keep it simple and stick to a single subject.

Pain is a moving image work developed from my previous book project, which explored my personal growth from 2022 to now. For this project, I selected a single subject—a feeling—and focused on mental illness and physical uncomfortable. By narrowing the subject to “pain,” I was able to explore how an internal state unfolds over time rather than narrating it linearly. My creative intention was not to document depression as a fixed condition, but to reflect on how my understanding of it has shifted between 2022 and 2024, and how I imagine its presence in my future. Material choices were the footages mostly taken by me from the past, because it’s a video memoir.
