Prompt: This assignment was for the Photo Roman work. This project was supposed to be a three-minute video made from photos or drawings inspired by Chris Marker’s La Jetée.

This project was for the photo roman assignment, where we had to create a three-minute video using pictures or illustrations. For this assignment, I wanted to explore the strange limbo that is this dream state. In the video, the girl goes to sleep and wakes up on a train. She notices a strange figure that snags her fascination, and she follows it. She chases it through her strange dream state and starts to run to catch up to the figure. She meets it and realizes it’s herself; she’s found herself, then she wakes up. This is supposed to be a representation of how your dreams show your inner meaning and self, and how they are a place to explore this. For the story process, I did a free write to get the story down and then did storyboarding in my sketchbook.
