Drawing and Imaging is pleased to announce the First-Year Sketchbook competition!
All First-Year students are encouraged to participate. There will be prizes awarded to the top three sketchbooks. A compilation video of all entries will be exhibited at Parsons.
Important Dates:
February 23 – March 20: Students upload submissions
March 30: Video exhibition opens, winners announced
March 30 – May 15: Video on view, 2 West 13th Street, 5th-floor monitors
To enter:
- Your sketchbook does NOT need to be full
- Your sketchbook can include personal explorations and classwork
- Film a video of you flipping through your sketchbook (smartphone videos are fine)
- Use the default format (1080 pixels at 30 FPS)
- Video should be 2 minutes or less
- Video should be well lit
- Video MUST be in horizontal (landscape) format
- Video should be steady (tripod filming is best)
- Choose a clean, neutral background to film
- Your name should appear on one of the pages
- Videos of well filmed sketchbooks can be found here
- Upload your video here (Newschool.edu account required)
- Non-conforming or poor quality videos will not be included
- Entries must be received by March 20th
