First Year Student Workshops – Friday, March 26th!

We have two super exciting #ParsonsFirstYear student workshops coming up on Friday March 26, at 3pm and 8pm ET! You definitely don’t want to miss either of these!

Be sure to check your University email for the Zoom link, password and all the details 🙂

First up at 3pm ET is: Welcome to the School Newspaper Club, led by faculty Rodger Stevens.

This will be the next installment of our mission to create a unique school paper – one conceptualized, produced, and maintained by students, for students. We will continue our work on every aspect of setting up, and providing content for, a serial publication that will exist on instagram, as an emailed zine and, once we’re back on campus, as a fully-realized, fully unconventional publication. Everyone welcome!

AND THEN at 8pm ET join faculty Joey Christiano Diaz for: Exploring Instincts & Liminal Space: An experiential workshop.

Join your classmates for a fun Friday evening of movement, mark-making, and community connection!

Through a diverse range of somatic engagements and drawing techniques we will explore how trusting our instincts and taking creative risks impacts how we create, what we produce, and how our work is received. We will work with our senses to explore our embodied relationship to liminal space in our immediate surroundings and in our collective virtual space as a way of activating possibilities for creating new paradigms.

This workshop encourages a spirit of play and experimentation.

What to bring (required)

-a sketchbook and/or several sheets of large drawing paper (newsprint is fine)
