Matchbox
Prompt: For this project, every student got assigned a different restaurant located in Manhattan. We had to visit them and create our designs for matchboxes inspired by the places. Those designs had to represent the restaurant and be used as an advertising element for it.
I created a matchbox design for the “ABC Kitchen” restaurant. For the design, I decided to use light baby-blue monochromatic color scheme for to emphasize the softness, gentleness of it. The texture used for the cover is meant to reflect the feeling of antique-ness of the restaurant. Repeated use of flowers reflects the interior of the restaurant which is filled with plants. The fancy aristocratic typeface is meant to reflect the “class” of the place and its feeling of luxury and elegance .
