A Butterfly's Biology
Prompt: For this assignment we represented a personal or social issue by using a grid of five images that changed in line quality and saturation.
For my piece I concentrated on the issue of focusing to deeply on the little things and loosing sight of the bigger picture. I represented this by starting with an extremely detailed photo of a butterflies wing. From the first photo the viewer can’t tell what exactly their looking at but as the frames move out the full picture it revealed. I chose to have the last few frames drawn lighter and more blurry to help emphasize the fact that we’ve lost sight of the bigger picture. I also chose to make the frame look like an old film roll in hopes to better capture the feeling passing time.
