Prompt: This particular assignment was to make an wearable accessory inspired by exoskeletons and by using linear materials.
This piece was made by keeping in mind its wearability as an accessory that can go over clothes and can be worn as a statement piece. The prompt of the assignment was to take inspiration from exoskeletons. This accessory gives the sense of being wrapped around the chest like the exoskeleton of an insect. While creating this piece close attention was given in making sure that the materials used are sustainable in order to keep a close relation with nature. The same theme of sustainability was also maintained by avoiding the use of toxic adessive. The ropes are attached using hooks and wires. Raffia was used to create sticks that acted as support for the ropes in order to keep them sturdy. The final purpose and aim for this accessory was to act as an statement piece which could be worn over any dress and enhances the overall look of the same.
