How Often?

Medium: Ink on canvas

Prompt: We were asked to make a piece based on a MoMA salon topic. My chosen topic was Attention vs. Distraction.

The piece depicts the shape of a Rorschach test (commonly known as an ink blot test) composed with text from an adult ADHD diagnosis questionnaire (ASRS-v1.1). Surrounding the figure are notes and poems I’ve written within the past few years that I felt pertained to the ideas of attention, focus and distraction. As viewers experience the work they often shift their focus multiple times between the wider composition and the specific details in the text.
