Devin Lamoureux

The video follows a single character, a student in NYC, as they go about their evening routine. The character is making their microwave dinner as they do every night, and while doing so they fall into a fantasy in their own head. This fantasy takes the character on an adventure through a completely deserted NYC. They will cut back into reality after hours of adventure to realize only a few seconds had passed. I created this story based on the feelings of escapism and fantasies just like the one in the video, that I often have. My goal was to create a narrative that manipulates time to the extent that reality is as unclear for the viewer as the character in the video. I wanted the viewer to feel the same freedom through solitude as this character experiences in his fantasy.
