Prompt: We had to choose a topic from the MoMA Salon. I chose the topic high and low art.

My topic was high and low art. For my painting, I decided to paint instant ramen noodles paired with a glass of wine. Because instant noodles is so easily accessible, it would be considered lowbrow. By pairing it with wine and painting it realistically, it changes the low to high. I also decided to paint it in acrylic because acrylic paint is considered less professional than oil paint. My goal for this painting was to show that no matter what the subject is or the media used, you can turn any low object into high art. I also framed it. The frame is painted gold and has pieces of the instant noodle packaging glued to it.
