Prompt: The initial prompt was to make a wire sculpture of any object. Once the wire sculpture was ready, we were asked to make a presentation display out of planar materials to best represent a concept around our chosen objects.

The decision to do the wire sculpture of a study lamp was made to experiment with the centre of gravity of the lamp shade. I thought that would be an interesting problem to solve. It took a few attempts to figure that out. Once I had my wire sculpture, I was inspired by the Pixar lamp to make a stop motion that personified the lamp, as though the lamp was telling us about the evolution of light bulbs. I used planar material like Chipboard and vellum to then make a lampshade that would help tell the history of the light bulb. I even used hand drawn graphics for the same.
