Prompt: The first three pictures are screenshots from the video called “Error”, which tells a story about people’s reactions when technology breaks down.
For this sound design assignment, we need to create two one-minute videos for two finished sound designs. This new visual component should be related to the sound design and the construction of the image component should be used as an opportunity to revisit the overall activities suggested in your finished sound design. I created visual storyboards with images and instructions for shooting videos. I began with the narrative aural details necessary to construct a scene, sounds that describe activities within an environment, sounds that are not dialogue or music. These sounds are drawn from sound libraries and are composed to propose an oblique-narrative. The sound design serves as the primary source material in a collaboration with moving-image makers.
