Prompt: Produce and present a wearable or fashion communication project demonstrating clothing as an expression of identity derived from personal research

Fashion Dollhouse is an exploration of how music influences my personal style. Each of the six rooms in the house features a paper doll dressed in clothing that represents a different genre of music that inspires me. From top left to bottom right, the genres are: 90s grunge, riot grrrl, 70s rock n roll, bluegrass & western, contemporary indie rock, and 60s alternative. The house stands about 2 1/2 feet tall and was constructed using primarily wood and paper. It has a shingled roof, miniature wood paneling and moulding, and handmade articulated paper dolls. The doll’s clothing was carefully styled to represent iconic figures and the subcultures within the genres.
