Prompt: For this project, the theme was around craftivism and creating a project that made a statement. Students were paired up into groups of 2 where they each taught a skill of craft to one other. From there, you would need to create a project around a shared concern between the two using the craft chosen by your partner.
Packaging, it’s something we like to have, but it’s not a necessity. In many cases, people buy things for the packaging and not necessarily for the product itself, causing a loop where companies try to use packaging as a marketing ploy to get people to buy their products. While there is a shift towards more eco-friendly packaging, with the increase in online shopping, packaging has become an integral part of the buying experience. This project served to make a statement about this issue of over-packaging, to spread awareness about the harm of plastic.
