Prompt: Create a short film on any topic or style, incorporating audio mixing, video transitions, lighting, foley, sound effects, a variety of shot types, and everything learned in our time course.

A short film following a girl consumed by media and technology, so much so that surreal situations occur, leading her to realize that she is never alone with just her thoughts. It plays off of the idea that many studies are now saying our attention span is smaller than a goldfish’s. I based my story and shots on research on attention spans, goldfish, and media consumption. I incorporated psychology and played off of experiments dealing with attention span in my framing. Not only was this a project, but also a discovery for me. I began to think about how much media I consume. I listen to music, watch TV, and go on my phone whenever I am alone and doing something. I started to try being alone with my thoughts more, even if that was just putting my phone away in an elevator. I hope viewers will take away the same from the film.
