Prompt: To create a project based on our favourite myth
I drew a black and white realistic version of Andromeda drowning in the sea instead of being chained to the rock, like she was in the original myth. I wanted to pay homage to all the women in Greek mythology whose beauty was the cause of their demise (in Andromeda’s case, almost her demise). I chose to paint her in black and white to hint at the story of Medusa and how she was turned into a viscous monster because of her looks. The colour choice resembles the stone that her victims would turn into.
