Prompt: We had to go and explore a neighborhood as a group; my group went to Jackson Heights, and then we made different representations of the culture and history we acquired knowledge of.

This project looks at how food helps people understand their identity in diasporic communities. In Jackson Heights, food brings together memory, culture, and change, helping people feel at home in new places. Rather than simply documenting the neighborhood, I interpret it by layering materials, breaking things apart, and experimenting with different textures.
