Prompt: Peer to peer project. Design a gift for a partner.
In this project, my partner and I were to go to MoMA and choose one of our favorite artworks. I used the artwork that she choose as an inspiration, combined with the interview that I did with her to design a gift for her. I made a headdress for my partner. The artwork she chose is an oil painting called Tribulations of Saint Anthony. The use of color in the painting is impressive, so the color palette of my work was inspired by this oil painting.
My partner Skylar is a shy person, she can play bass and her biggest dream is to play in a band. She has beautiful long black hair and that was my first impression, so I decided to make a headdress for her and specific for her first band performance in the future. To give confidence, I designed my head in very extreme shape. For the main part, I used hard wire to create the basic shape. I sewed different colors of fabric together and put them outside the wire.
