Prompt: The Service Design project asks you to explore a real world problem utilizing systems and design thinking. Your job is to create a design that serves the needs of a specific community. In this process you are working with a real person (a user) that represents a community who is impacted by the unsustainable issue and could benefit from your design.
For my final design, I decided to create a mockup pitch for a laundry detergent that is biodegradable and eco-friendly. I decided to create a design for biodegradable laundry detergent after interviewing a student about their problems with laundromats within the Brooklyn area. natureWash is a design that is meant to be planet-friendly in cases of leaks and breakages with pipes in laundry mats. By eliminating harmful and artificial chemicals, natureWash helps protect sewer systems and supports a cleaner, more sustainable planet.
