A Surprise
Prompt: Create a three-figure composition in a setting, putting in context light, shadow, and line weight. Not required to be painted.
I decided to use oil paint for this project, so I challenged myself not only to follow the project’s requirements but also to push myself with color. It involved a few analog graphite studies of form before I shifted to drafting the image digitally in Procreate. Once I reached a desired thumbnail, I began painting and finished the project within 3 days.
