99 Flower Pedals
Prompt: Create 50 circles by hand and 50 circles digitally and combine them in Adobe Photoshop. Utilize your knowledge in Adobe Photoshop to play with the 100 circles, and print on a medium that suits your work. Black and white only.
Even though this project is called the Full Circle Project and requires the use of 100 circles, I found it hard to be creative while solely focusing on circles. Instead, I inspired by the leaf like shape that appears when I overlap two circles like a vein diagram. Using this idea, I transformed the project by creating various flowers and butterflies out of this shape. Through out the process, I applied my knowledge of the Gestalt principle, integrated it in both my drawing and my work in photoshop. Furthermore, the limitation of using only black and white allowed me to focus more on pattern and shape, highlighting how the design is presented rather than relying on a variety of colors.
