Prompt: Create a work of art to address your companion's fears.

This video is a heartfelt response to my partner’s struggle with the fear of insomnia, blending stop-motion animation, frame-by-frame animation, and filming to convey a soothing narrative. The work offers a meditative visualization as a remedy, encouraging a transformative perspective on sleeplessness. Through this project, I invite the viewer to imagine the mind as a vast oceanarium, where thoughts take the form of various fish swimming freely. This metaphor serves to remind us that these thoughts are separate from our true selves and hold no power to disturb our inner peace. By observing them with detachment, we can shift our focus to the rhythmic flow of our breath, anchoring ourselves in the present moment. This practice can calm our mind effectively and pave the way for restful, restorative sleep. This project is not only to relieve my partner’s fear of insomnia, but also my personal exploration of using artistic expression to show the role of mindfulness meditation in alleviating anxiety. I also hope that this method can inspire more people and heal their hearts.
