Prompt: What is your greatest fear? We can all relate to fears and anxieties and as humans, we often comfort each other and work together in forms of mutual aid to sooth or overcome fears. In this bridge project you will work with another student, asking this question of each other and creating a response. After sharing a personal fear with your partner (and following an interview) you will create a video to respond in some way to the fear.
The project responds to the assignment requirements through mutual assistance by interviewing my classmate Barbara about her childhood trauma of being possessed by a ghost, and presenting it in a video format. The key details contained from the interview directly helped me in narrating the story. My creative intention is to adopt a first-person animation perspective, allowing the audience to experience her helplessness in an immersive way. Eventually, it demonstrates the interweaving of fear and love. In terms of material selection, the hand-drawn simple strokes simulate the texture of memory. The colors directly construct the narrative: the strong contrast of black, red, and blue is used to express the panic and irrational state when possessed, setting it apart from the normal world.
