First Year Student Workshop: The Sketchbook as a Powerful Tool

Join Parsons faculty Kate Teale on Thursday November 17th from 7:00pm – 8:30pm for the First Year workshop: The Sketchbook as a Powerful Tool.

We have all seen that sketchbook that we marvel over. The kind that is densely packed with imagery and text, thoughts, ideas, doodles and collage coming together as an extension of one’s own thinking. This workshop will look at some of the techniques and practices that can get you there. Examples and exercises will round out the workshop and get you started down a path that will make this a powerful tool in your thinking.

Materials: Bring a sketchbook, and any found paper and materials for collage (magazines, paper bags etc.), scissors, glue-stick, craft knife, whatever you have by way of markers/pencils/colored pencils/ink and any other drawing materials you like to use.

Come and meet others and (voluntarily) share current or older sketchbooks.

Remember to check your New School email for the Zoom link and password! 🙂
