Class of: 2023
Major: Strategic Design and Management BBA
Medium: Digital
Faculty: Aviva Maya Shulem
Prompt: Students were each given a neighborhood to design for. After months of research and in-depth investigation, students come up with a design proposal to solve a problem/ problems through the specific design intervention.
Public-private partnerships have been the critical stimulator for economic growth and technological advancement on Roosevelt Island in recent years. However, the increasing privatization of the neighborhood causes the disappearance of affordable housings, geographic separations, and a hindrance to public accessibility. The design objective is to create a Tech Art Interactive Installation that can unite and prosper the entire community as well as increasing outside attractions for the benefit of individuals, government, and private sectors. The Tech Art Interactive Installation is not the key to solve all problems, but it inevitably will reconnect and reunite the community as a whole through the creatives worlds of many individuals.
