My inspiration for this piece is the golden spiral shape. I had found that the nested platonic groups that we made in class had gradually become a very spherical shape.
Later, I experimented with prototypes and I used 4 half platonic solids (varying in size) combined together to give a gradual spiral swirl shape. The organic wire frame and the iridescence presents the balance of hardness and softness in real life. The piece can be either suspended in the air or handheld. When the sunlight shines on it, the shadow of metal wire and light reflection of iridescent plastic paper are made visible.
