Space / Materiality

This piece was one of my favorites for my First Year Space & Materiality class. The assignment was to create a garment intended for people to wear that connected to a community you identify with. Being a young lesbian woman of color, I decided to connect my peace to the LGBT community. I created these specific “Superhero” goggles that represent young kids who haven’t came out, the goggles are a sign to show them that they’re not alone.
