Prompt: The class was asked to design a chair that could be scaled up to a life-size model followed by creating a prototype in wood.

The initial steps of the project included getting inspired by preexisting chair designs, creating your own, and understanding measurements to scale up to a life-size design. The next step was creating a cardboard prototype to make sure the sketch worked and was ready to be translated to a wood final. I made minor measurement changes to my cardboard prototype which then materialized into a wood final piece. The inspiration for the shape of my chair was an egg. A rounded design that was minimal and sleek. The method I used to complete the chair was laminating. A technique that works particularly well with wood, strengthening it while adding to the design.
