Oyster & Bamboo Project

Class of: 2025

Major: Communication Design BFA

Medium: Bamboo Tubes

Faculty: Allison James

Prompt: A presentation for the final project of this class. Our objective was to design a product using reclaimed materials that will limit pollution and benefit our planet.

I thought of a biodegradable, accessible, and cheap alternative to plastic tubes used for oyster farming that simultaneously solves the problem of overgrown abandoned bamboo bushes in Japan. This is my loveletter to my home, Hiroshima, in hopes of keeping the community vitalized via the oyster industry without having to compensate for the future generations.
