Prompt: The assignment was to design a custom made cosmetics bottle and its outer packaging for either a male, female or unisex fragrance. This packaging will be promoted/supported by a mini counter display.
I decided to create a fragrance packaging based on the “west coast” lifestyle. I wanted to create packaging that would appeal to young women who like the coastal lifestyle and who want an escape from their daily life. Although I had many different ideas for the packaging, my peers and professor helped me tighten my idea and I decided on emphasizing the beauty of clear ocean water in the packaging. I also decided that using a wave motif would make the bottle memorable and distinctive among other fragrance bottles.
