Studio Ghibli | A Tribute to Hayao Miyazaki & Joe Hisashi
Prompt: This project is about building container that remember us of something, a person or some memories
Since childhood, I grew up with Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation studio based in Koganei, Tokyo. I still remember the first Ghibli film I watched, which was “My Neighbor Totoro,” which opened the door for me to get to know other Ghibli productions. Then, unconsciously, I became more attached to other Ghibli films, and these films have left a unique feeling in my memory. Unknown to me, this studio actually has a strong presence in the animation industry. The unique storyline, memorable characters, and deep message each film gives grow my admiration for Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki was the founder of Ghibli, and Joe Hisashi was the composer and musician for the Ghibli film soundtrack. This container project serves as a tribute to them, showing my admiration and gratitude for the existence of Studio Ghibli. Starting from those, I’m overly excited to bring my love for Ghibli and realize my dream box of Ghibli for this container Project. The concept of my project is to capture all the Studio Ghibli creations into one box and assemble them to be presentable showcasing the creations of Hayao Miyazaki and Joe Hisashi. Because all of their creation is in the form of film and music, I’m making a box with hologram to showcase the video and using technology to also incorporate the music. As a studio with a lot of fantasies and dream worlds, I place the hologram flying over in a landscape of Ghibli world miniature. By placing some hand-made characters and some Ghibli glowing characters, I want to add the magical feeling of real-life Ghibli to it.
