Prompt: Selecting key element/s and creating a montage film based on the elements.

For this project, I focused on the ring and the rope as symbolic elements to explore and justify the darker aspects of love. I intended to portray a non-linear narrative that tells a story of one possible routine of love, one that is “poisoned”. In this project, the “poisoned” love is rooted in domestic violence, and I chose to represent its toxicity through symbolic imagery associated with death and suicide. By creating a discomforting and pessimistic film, I wanted to emphasize that the ending of such a love is an inevitable tragedy. In this narrative, once someone enters a poisoned relationship, symbolized by the ring, the only way to escape is through death, represented by the rope. The final scene reflects this sad end, as the character dies, her hand slips out of the rope, and the ring falls to the ground.
