Your Letter
Prompt: Create a video with a narrative based on several genres for the final editing project. Students will edit the video using Adobe Premiere Pro, which will include video footage, graphics, sound design, and composition.
“Your Letter” tells a bittersweet story of Emma and Mai, two girls who became best friends despite Mai’s inability to talk. Follow Emma on her journey to investigate the cause for Mai’s disappearance with the letters she left behind. Using procreate and Adobe Premier Pro, this video is animated and drawn similar to a comic book or a storyboard. Inspired by Disney’s short lm “Paperman” (2012) and Chris Marker’s “La Jetée” (1962), this animation uses music and sound design to tell its story. Music used in this animation was composed by Yun-peng Cheng and HOYO-MiX.
