Remember
Prompt: This first bridge, Memory Museum, explores our physical, pictorial identity. You will create a “museum collection” of the earliest significant objects from your childhood, using methods such as drawing and model-making to conjure them from the past and project the future. Finally, you will choose a format to display your collection as a museum.
What is in the album? Music always has been a very big part of my life. When I hear certain music, I tend to remember the scene of the times I was hearing that music, remembering where, what time, and which season it was. One of the biggest albums that impacted me was Maroon 5’s “Overexposed” album from 2012 so I chose to parody the album cover lling the cover with my signicances. To leave a resemblance, I left the iconic facial components on the cover then built my life around them. The bigger an item, the more impact it had in my life, the brighter the item, the more I currently remember.
On the back, the track titles are important events from my life: 030718, my date of birth, Wet Thumb, me sucking my thumb when I was a baby to feel secure and safe. Seoul to Shanghai, when I moved from Seoul to Shanghai which is one of the biggest changes in my life. Tnoy, I used to spell my name Tony Tnoy because I did not know English when I rst went to an American school in Kindergarten. Adolescence, my teenager life growing and learning to become an adult. 19/20, the current stage in my life of not wanting to grow and become an adult, wanting to stay as a teenager.
As I listen to these tracks, this album, I tend to remember the scene of the times I was creating this music, remembering where, what time, and which season it was.
