Prompt: Culture jamming is employed as a reaction against social conformity. Culture jamming also is a form of subvertising. In our studio and seminar class, we found out social issues and jammed them into our artworks and research papers.

Chinese GaoKao (National Higher Education Entrance Examination, it is is an academic examination held annually in the People’s Republic of China. This examination is a prerequisite for entrance into almost all higher education institutions at the undergraduate level. It is usually taken by students in their last year of senior high school.)

I chose this topic because GaoKao is the most important test for every Chinese student; the preparation is often very difficult and takes a long time. I took the GaoKao test before. For me, GaoKao was painful. I remember the tension, stress, and countless white examination papers. Mental stress and physical stress (more than 10 hours of studying and quizzes each day) often make many students feel tired. I hope that everyone can feel the pressure of GaoKao through my artwork, and also feel the morbid, sick and painful experience of the student who is preparing for GaoKao.
