Prompt: Each group will select a DESIGNATED LOCATION (space) where this collection will be used/displayed, etc. Students will then create a COLLECTION OF OBJECTS to demonstrate human interaction. Each group member will design their ARTIFACT (part of the group collections). The objects in each group must be related to one another, either through concept, shape, color, materials, etc. The objects will be a COLLECTIVE of ARTIFACTS facilitating social interaction when presented. To design the objects, students can consider Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C) design principles, which they explored in a video (assignment #10 -Design, nature, and Sustainability). Additionally, students should incorporate recycled and/or upcycled materials in their design concepts. By doing so, students will create not only a set of objects that promote social interaction but also environmentally sustainable objects.
We produced a furniture set that can be assembled and taken apart easily, our main focus being the multifunctionality of the products with each element having several uses. It consists of an outer table container and three stools that can be stacked and stored inside the table, as well as a crocheted accent displayed on the top of the stools. Our product havena. will promote social interaction by allowing individuals to work together to customize their furniture layout based on the different arrangement of the pieces, creating a more personalized atmosphere using the simplistic pieces contained.
