The Little Book of Muses

Class of: 2029

Major: Fashion Design BFA

Medium: Paper, chipboard, canson paper, metal letters, lace, spiral spine

Faculty: Michelle Nahum-Albright

Prompt: For our final assignment, we were instructed to create an artifact that demonstrates the connection between our personal identities and the world of fashion.

Within my project, I wanted to explore the concept of women as muses and how each of their personal styles shape their individual identities and how they have impacted the fashion realm. I also wanted my book to focus on the muses that have shaped/continue to shape me and my own identity, which is why I have included women such as my mother and my aunt as muses which I draw inspiration from. The Little Book of Muses is a love letter to the women who continue to influence me throughout my journey of becoming a woman and finding my true identity in a disorienting society.
