Prompt: We were tasked to create textiles using digital textile printing. By exploring various styles and techniques, we drew inspiration from nature landscapes, art and design history, architecture, and patterns of shape repetition to develop unique and visually compelling patterns.

By using unconventional materials such as mayonnaise, forks, knives, and soy sauce packets for the block printing/ hand drawing stage before it was taken into Photoshop, I was able to create unique interpretations of my initial concepts for the patterns. For my applications, I chose several objects of all categories (3D, interior, garments) in order to show the versatility of my patterns. I wanted to show that although my patterns are loud and visually chaotic, applying them on a “quieter” object such as a bathroom tile could tone down the chaos a bit. I hope that viewers can see my patterns being used in a variety of ways.
