The intent of the work is to illustrate how friendship doesn’t last forever through animation, sound, and video. This theme is based on a relationship I had with a childhood friend because, over the years, we’ve seen each other less and less. Since this broken friendship bothered me for a while, I wanted to create a story that conveyed my sorrow and disappointment. The piece starts off by showing me thinking of what story to write for a homework assignment and then realizing the memories associated with my toy sock puppy. The majority of the three-minute video is a digital animation depicting the story of a friendship between two dogs that slowly falls apart over time. The animation style and dialogue were inspired by children’s books.
