Class of: 2028

Major: Fine Arts BFA

Medium: Cut paper on illustration board

Faculty: Diana Shpungin

Prompt: Through focus on the elements of design and effective composition, students create a collage out of just black cut paper and illustration board with focus on an object chosen at random.

I utilized varying line weights and diverse eyeglass shapes to create a visually engaging composition. Working within the black-and-white limitation, I used high contrast to my advantage, emphasizing the distinct differences between each pair of glasses. To make the piece truly stand out, I focused on capturing the reflections on the shiny frames and lenses. These reflections introduced a variety of complementary shapes that added depth and visual interest to the overall design.
