Prompt: This assignment explores how 2D designs can be transformed into 3D compositions through layering, cutting, and material manipulation.

11:99+ is a conceptual clock composed of four layers of laser-cut cast acrylic, with a functioning clock mechanism mounted on the back. This piece explores the relationship with time, inspired by my ongoing struggles with personal health. Confronting these challenges has forced me to reconsider the idea of lifespan and the value of each moment.

I’ve always felt uneasy when the clock strikes midnight—the start of a new day. In response, I named this clock 11:99+, a fictional time that resists the passage into tomorrow. It symbolizes a desire to expand time, to give myself more space to heal in this illusion of infinity.

I used images from Pinterest and imported them into Photoshop to apply effects for my inspiration collage. Then I developed my sketch in Procreate and transformed it into an Illustrator file for laser cutting the acrylic sheets. The final step was to combine every layer with the clock mechanism.
