In the 60s and 70s mini-skirts became the rave, it was only natural that the new fashion trends also influenced the flight attendant uniforms; short skirts, fitted dress, high heels, and tights were some of the recurring pieces. However, not everyone was content with working long hours at high altitudes in these fashionable skirts. Many stewardesses complained about the discomfort of the skirt. I propose a new skirt as a part of the flight attendant uniform that could replace both the mini and midi skirt. It would be an adjustable piece in length, adaptable to different temperatures in the work space, and act as a convertible apron for when the stewardess serves beverages or food. The skirt will perform the purpose of allowing flight attendants to work more comfortably, thus, providing better service for the passengers.
