Prompt: For this project, we were tasked with designing a piece of jewelry for our client (another classmate) using the laser cutter.
I designed this piece for my client, Nina, based on her tastes. She likes silver, leather, organic forms, geometric patterns, and natural stones. I have similar tastes, so I felt free to create a piece that aligned with my own design interests. I used leather as the base for the design to give the piece an earthy, natural look. I contrasted the organic nature of the material with sharp geometric designs etched in. I also used aquamarines, as the stone has a beautiful texture and a color that compliments the shade of leather. The three elements of the jewelry piece are all connected by stainless steel chains and the earring chain is fully detachable. The back of the choker is connected using a watch buckle.
