Prompt: Create a film using cameras and audio recorders and editing in Adobe Premiere. The project is an exploration of how editing can shape our perceptions of time and events and create new and unexpected meanings and connections.
My intention was to evoke a suspenseful, dreamlike atmosphere; I disrupted the sequence with abrupt transitions and unexpected cuts, mirroring the unpredictable flow of dreams. I portrayed two versions of the protagonist to emphasize the disjointed quality often experienced in dreams: one version moves slowly, lost in thought, while the other rushes with urgency, creating a noticeable contrast that suggests overlapping timelines. This interplay between contrasting paces heightens the tension and surreal quality of the narrative. I also used overlay effects, allowing scenes to blend together in a way that feels fragmented yet cohesive. This allowed me to suggest foreshadowing, disrupt linear storytelling, and convey layered emotions, all without fully transitioning to a new scene.
