Meiqi Yuan

My design is about the sign “Do not touch” in the museums. To be specific, the sign in the MET. First, I designed a normal one with a hand touching the pot. Then I started to consider adding some Egyptian elements in the sign for MET is famous for the collection. I tried to draw a hand touching the coffin, however, the sign looked a bit complicated with too much details.I redesigned the signs with these two proposals. For the First one, I made the hand more cartoon-like and eliminate the black in it, so that the ratio of black and white is closer to 1:1, which also makes stronger impact. For The second, I use the eye of heros to represent the Egyptian element.However, the first one is better since the second one is a bit ambiguous. So I trace the image in Ai and make a digital version of it.
